General Description: |
This is a great palm for hot and cold areas. It is tolerant of most extreme conditions. It would be a good plant for those who have more extreme weather. It can be grown along the coast, but it prefers more heat. |
Chamaerops Humilis v. Cerifera is an evergreen, low maintenance palm from Southern Europe hardy to about -10°C or more when mature. It is very similar in appearance to the normal Chamaerops Humilis except that the narrow, fan palm leaves are a different color. Chamaerops V. Cerifera are a lovely, pale blue color which becomes more vivid as they mature. They start off with green leaves, progressing to blue. This palm usually grows multiple trunks with sharp spines on the stems. Can be planted in very windy locations which do not seem to effect the leaves. An excellent palm with a contrasting color.
